Important Damascus steel blade filleted at forte and with double fuller on back edge, calligraphic stamps in the form of a gilt crescent moon on the inside, superbly made damascened steel grip with gold inlay, leather-bound wood sheath with steel garnitures decorated with gilt racemes and signature on reverse at the mouth and on the sheath’s chape embellished with a count’s coronet with eagles, moons and swirl motifs, images of Solomon and moon crescents; the front area presents elegant decorative swirl motifs and scrollwork, complete with belt with closure and bosses that are also damascened. Rare, high quality with only minor defects.
