A sabre, Italia Regno 1865 ca. - Kingdom of Italy, circa 1865

A rare sabre belonging to an officer of the Piacenza Hussars, fine blade etched with trophies, flags and swirl motifs, back-edge is entirely decorated with foliage and segment motif. Guard wrapped in iron plating edged and pierced, fish-skin and wire-wrap covered wood grip, iron scabbard with two bombé bands. The weapon is in excellent condition, in patina, missing one of the suspension rings.
