Signature on the back. The bust is mounted on a reclaimed green marble base, cm. 13. Overall height cm. 47.8. Expertise by Paola Mola on 16 February 2022. The previously unpublished work is included in the general catalog of Rosso's sculptures kept in the Archive of the Rosso Museum (Update of the "Catalog Raisonné .." published in 2009.

" [...] I consider this work to be a second version of the Ruffiana , an original work finished and personally mounted by Rosso on a base which is part of the work. More precisely, I consider this to be a transitional work between the Ruffiana still in the round and the Sacristano open behind, which in turn is the precedent of that apex of the Milanese years which Rosso reaches with the Concierge (1883) ".
