Cosmopolitan Cavalry Carbine

certainly one of the rarest Civil War carbines to be found, it was used in particular by the 6th Cavalry Regiment of Illinois: the weapon fired the same fuel paper cartridge as the Sharps; barrel with front sight and upright riser and sliding cursor; castle with oscillating shutter, whose movement is controlled by the lever-bridge of the trigger; largely legible factory inscriptions; American walnut stock with iron butt plate, the mark of the military controller is clearly visible on the left side of the neck; mechanics in order; in overall good condition. The weapon is accompanied by the exegetical text "Cosmopolitan and Gwyn & amp; Campbell Carbines in the Civil War" Author T.B Rentschler. Serial number: 2249.
