Rare pre-unification cavalry carbine

of private French production, probably destined for the State of the Church or perhaps the Regiment of Hunters on Horseback of the Two Sicilies, given the remarkable stylistic similarities with the pistols supplied to the Corps, also of commercial production imported from Belgium: massive barrel with rifled core, equipped with front sight and upright stand, stamped "FF" with date "1844" on the combustion chamber; iron rod hinged to the barrel; walnut chest with iron t-shirts and remaining brass fittings; in good condition; very interesting L 82 cm
