Elegant flintlock rifle
probably of northern Italian manufacture, datable to the 18th century: slender two-row barrel with rings engraved at the gearbox, carries two manufacturer's punches set in gold on the combustion chamber, retains a good percentage of the original burnishing; polished battery in white, signed "F. Deplan", of a relatively archaic type as it lacks the hammer bridle; walnut wood case with full hand guard bridge made for carving, remaining mounts in gilded brass; wooden ramrod (breaking) with horn ball knock; in good condition
