first type modification of the long Mod. 1870 bayonet sabre, thus transformed for use on Vetterli Vitali converted to the 6.5mm caliber during the Great War: the blade is shortened to an intermediate length of 29.5mm and the guard it has not been deprived of the curl; in the definitive version the blade will be shorter to allow the simultaneous creation of the dagger by Arditi with the resulting piece of the same and the "quillon" will be eliminated from the cross; ebonite grips, intact, with first type release spring (short model); reduced original scabbard, in blackened leather with brass fittings; in good condition with normal signs of use; rare
