A cased pair of target percussion pistols, Francia, 1850 ca. - France, circa 1850

Octagonal rifled blued barrels in 10,5mm calibre, case-hardened mounts engraved with swirls, tangs fitted with key to adjust the sight line; locks signed in gold "J. ROCHATTE à Paris", a signature that is also impressed on the inner side of the lid;chiselled and carved ebony stocks. The weapons are conserved in a rosewood veneered case decorated with brass filleting and reinforced corners and scallop-edging (Dim. 49,5x31 cm.), the interior is lined in red fabric marked with gold letters and contains the following accessories: cleaning ramrods, bullet mould, nipple wrench and turn screw, oiler, powder flask, an ebony cylindrical container and sight adjustment key. The weapons are in excellent condition, minor defects to fabric.
