A pair of duelling pistols, Gran Bretagna, 1800 ca. - Great Britain, circa 1800

Octagonal Damascussteel barrels in circa 17mm calibre with brown finish and signed on the top panels H.W. MORTIMER & CO.LONDON GUN MAKERS TO HIS MAJESTY. Gold filleting and vent pans, blued locks, fitted with anti-friction wheel and back safety catches engraved with trophies and palmettes and signed in the central area HW MORTIMER & CO., briarwood butts with saw-grip handle, 30cm in length, the butt plate can be removed by pressing a button, terminal reinforced with blued steel engraved strips, iron mounts are chiseled and engraved with trophies-of-arms, foliage and pineapple, the pistols are presented with silver terminals and lateral silver escutcheons; they are conserved in their original mahogany case lined in green fabric with the producer’s label on the inside (Dim. 53x26cm) and the case contains the following accessories: powder flask, bullet mould and cleaning ramrod. Rare and in excellent condition.
