Before the auction

The Catalogue
For each sale, the Auction House prepares a catalogue (catalogue subscription) containing photographs of the works to be auctioned, accompanied by a technical data sheet that further illustrates the lot. A minimum and a maximum estimate based on average market prices, adjudications in other relevant auctions, lot quality, rarity, state of preservation and other criteria are also indicated.

The Estimates
The estimates, prepared with ample time before the publication of the catalogue, are subject to change during the exhibition. These changes will be communicated during the auction by the auctioneer.

The minimum price
Each work has a reserve price, i.e. the minimum figure at which the auctioneer authorises the Auction House to award the lot. This figure is strictly confidential and may be defended by the auctioneer by means of appropriate raises, within the framework of the proper fulfilment of the mandate conferred. If the lot does not exceed the reserve price, it cannot be awarded.

The Exhibition
The auction is preceded by an exhibition of the lots during which the Gallery's staff will be available to provide any clarification regarding the works for sale.

Written commission

If you are unable to attend the auction in person, you can instruct the Pananti Gallery to purchase the lots at the lowest possible price. You may indicate your highest bid on the form, which will only be used by the auctioneer to the extent necessary to outbid the other bids. In the event of a tied bid, the one received first (either in the room or in writing) shall prevail.

Bids must in any case be received 4 hours before the start of the auction. Bids received later will be accepted at the discretion of the auctioneer.

Bids may be made on the appropriate forms which can be found in the catalogue, or which can be downloaded (download the form here) and printed, then filled in and sent by fax to no. 055/2741034.

By telephone
If instead you wish to participate by telephone, you can make a request by filling in the appropriate form, (Download the form here) with the wording ‘telephone’ in place of ‘maximum bid’.
